Baala Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School was inaugurated on 6th June 1985 during the academic year 1985–86 by Mrs. L Usha B.Ed,M.Ed. a trained teacher with 14 years of teaching experience.
The school was established with the objective of providing quality basic education to the residents of Manali New Town, developed under the Chennai CMDA Plan.
Baala Vidyalaya aims to groom students in academic excellence, self-confidence, sports, culture, and a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, thereby shaping them into responsible and disciplined citizens of India.
The school began its journey in 1985–86 and has grown steadily over the years.
It officially became a recognized Primary School.
Based on continuous parent requests, Sixth Standard was introduced.
The school was recognized by the Directorate of Matriculation.
Tenth Standard was introduced to the school curriculum.
Received approval to conduct the Public Examination in this academic year.
The Principal, with over two decades of experience, provides strong leadership and is supported by a committed team of teachers and staff.
Mr. Gnanam Balakrishnan is a Postgraduate in Engineering with an M.S. in Systems and Information. He is an HRD professional trained in Germany and Japan.
The school primarily serves students from Economically weaker sections of society in the Manali New Town area. Many students come from poor families, and the school continues to provide education at minimal and affordable fees, with support extended to students who are unable to pay.
Serving a working-class community where the average monthly income is around ₹5,000, the school strives to fulfill parents’ aspirations by providing accessible and quality education.
The institution has a proven record of obtaining Centum results annually in the X and XII Board Examinations.
The school has secured the Overall Shield in Singing, Drawing, and Speech competitions continuously for the past ten years in Mahajana Saba.
